E-business is the use of Internet technology to conduct or facilitate business transactions including sales, marketing, and managing accounts receivable or payable.
The most frequently deployed e-business strategy is the creation of a website to promote and advertise a business. In its most basic form a website is an online marketing tool advertising your goods and services and providing essential business information such as telephone number, address, and hours of operation.
More sophisticated websites allow a business to sell goods and services directly online, a strategy referred to as e-commerce. Building a successful e-commerce enterprise requires careful planning and more often than not the assistance of technical professionals.
Other e-business strategies include email and online marketing, computerized customer relationship management, and web-based payroll and accounts processing.
